Correct Brushing: Use a soft-bristled toothbrush and the Bass method. Angle the toothbrush at 45 degrees towards the root of the tooth, aiming at the gum-tooth junction. A portion of the bristles should enter the gingival sulcus, and another part should rest on the gum margin. Try to reach interdental spaces. Gently move the brush back and forth in short strokes, 4-5 times per stroke, moving approximately 1 millimeter with each stroke. Brush only 2-3 teeth at a time before moving to the next set of teeth until the entire mouth is clean. Brush twice daily, spending at least 3 minutes each time.
Using Dental Floss: Dental floss removes plaque and food debris from between teeth, where brushing may miss. Use floss at least once daily. Gently insert the floss into the gaps between your teeth, forming a C-shape around each tooth. Move the floss up and down to clean the adjacent surfaces.
Regular Checkups and Cleaning: It is recommended to have a dental checkup and cleaning at least once a year to detect and address oral problems promptly. Professional cleaning removes tartar, plaque, and stains from the surface of the teeth, helping to prevent gum disease.
